SUNY Corning Community College says Kim Saunders will serve as Director of Educational Opportunity Program.
“CCC is thrilled to have someone with Kim’s educational background and professional experience stepping into this important role,” said Dr. William Mullaney, President of SUNY Corning Community College. “Kim possesses the drive and commitment to students to get CCC’s EOP program off to a great start.”
In this role, Saunders will be responsible for the overall administration of EOP, including supervision, planning, data management & reporting, program development and implementation, budget management, and program assessment. Saunders previously served as the manager of education & child development services at the Economic Opportunity Program of Chemung and Schuyler Counties. During her time with the Economic Opportunity Program, Saunders also worked as the manager of disabilities & mental health services.
Saunders possesses a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science from Elmira College, as well as a Certificate of Advanced Study from SUNY Brockport.
SUNY CCC was granted approval by the State University of New York (SUNY) to offer EOP services in May of 2022. EOP helps to make higher education possible for students who demonstrate academic promise, but whose life circumstances have not permitted them to reach their full potential. SUNY CCC is one of 54 campuses across New York State that will offer EOP as a financial and educational option for students.
