The Syracuse Mets capped off a six-game series with the Buffalo Bisons on Sunday afternoon at NBT Bank Stadium and fell 2-0. With the loss, Syracuse dropped five of six in the series.
David Peterson started for the Mets and surrendered a pair of runs on eight hits over four innings while walking two and striking out seven.
Buffalo plated both of their runs in the first two innings. Zack Collins drove in the first run with an RBI single. The second run scored on a throwing error by Syracuse catcher Patrick Mezeika.
New York Mets No. 2 prospect Brett Baty collected two of the team’s six hits.
Jose Rodriguez tossed three innings in relief, while Stephen Nogosek and Bryce Montes de Oca each tossed a scoreless frame.
Syracuse will get the day off on Monday before they head to Charlotte to begin a six-game series with the Knights on Tuesday night. The first pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m.
