Seneca County has identified its second case of monkeypox.

The health department has completed case investigation and made contact with all close, local contacts of that individual.

Officials said there was no connection to the first case of monkeypox, which was discovered days before.

The Seneca County Health Department is working with the state Department of Health, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

There’s no risk to the public at this time, officials added.
