Phelps man charged with endangering the welfare of a child

Police say a Phelps man was arrested following report of a disturbance on July 31.

According to a news release, the Canandaigua Police Department arrested Robert L. Taylor, 35, of Phelps for endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful imprisonment.

It was determined that Taylor had struck a young child at a Bristol Street address and physically held the child on the ground.

Taylor will appear in court at a later date.
