Geneva’s downtown streetscape, 5&20 overhaul are behind schedule: How long will it take to finish?

The $10.1 million downtown streetscape and Routes 5&20 projects are behind schedule.

That’s the latest update from contractors working on the projects around the city.

Originally, they were intended to be completed by October, or at least largely completely by then.

Nardozzi Paving & Construction cited an array of issues – including delays of materials, according to recent reporting by the Finger Lakes Times. They also reported that while more than 80% of its contract time has been used, little more than 60% of the work is finished.

Jim Nardozzi, president of Nardozzi Construction, told the Times that the issues are beyond the company’s control.

There’s no word yet on how long the city’s project may be extended as result of the delays.
