Finger Lakes Community College is expanding its Growing Rural Infrastructure Together (GRIT) program to two new locations in the fall semester.
GRIT offers pathway to manufacturing, tech careers
News 10 NBC reports that the program, which provides advanced manufacturing and computer training in partnership with community organizations, will be offering courses at the Clifton Springs and Macedon Public Libraries this fall.

The GRIT program features:
- Career training that fits your schedule and makes you valuable to employers who are ready to hire you
- Access to technology, instructors, and classrooms in a neighborhood near you
- Hands-on experience with new skills that will enhance your personal and professional life
- Credentials to enter a new profession or advance your current career in advanced manufacturing, computing, and technology
- Funding for most participants, which can cover the entire cost of the program, including supplies. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education, as part of an award totaling $18,067,845.
The GRIT program will offer courses in Foundations in Advanced Manufacturing, Computing in the Information Age, and Core Word, Excel & PowerPoint. Courses are offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons.
