The Rochester Red Wings dropped their 17th straight game with a 3-2 loss to the Columbus Clippers on Sunday afternoon at Huntington Park.
Washington Nationals prospect Cade Cavalli started for Rochester and surrendered a pair of runs on six hits over five innings while walking three and striking out four.
Columbus plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 2-0 lead.
Josh Nogowski put the Red Wings on the board in the top of the seventh with an RBI double.
In the top of the eighth, Andrew Stevenson smacked his eighth home run of the season to tie the game, 2-2. However, in the bottom of the inning, the Clippers regained the lead and held on for the victory.
The Red Wings will get the day off on Monday before they begin a six-game series with the Norfolk Ties on Tuesday at Frontier Field. The first pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.
