The Auburn Knights of Columbus will host a benefit Saturday night for Ukrainian refugee families settling in the area.
At least six refugee families coming to Auburn area
The Citizen quotes past K of C grand knight Jack Baraczek as saying at least six Ukrainian refugee families are in the process of moving to the Auburn area. Funds raised at Saturday night’s Dance for a Purpose will be given to the Reverend Vasile Colopelnic of SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, who will distribute them to the refugee families for their basic needs.
A ten-dollar admission fee will be charged for the dance. A local band, Weekend at Bernie’s, will play, and there will be a cash bar, food, silent auctions, and a raffle. The event was planned by the K of C Ladies Auxiliary. Chapters nationwide have been raising money for a Ukraine Solidarity Fund.
The Dance for a Cause begins at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Knights of Columbus at 47 Market St. in Auburn.
