Tompkins Community Bank announced Thomas Cannon has been promoted to branch manager of its Plaza Office, located on South Meadow Street in Ithaca. Cannon will be responsible for maintaining and operating the branch while coaching and developing staff, as well as serving as the primary relationship manager for local retail and small business clients.
Helen Talty, SVP community banking, shared, “Thomas is a valued and effective member of the Tompkins team. He has worked tirelessly for our customers over the last few years, and his strong leadership abilities and deep community spirit make him an excellent branch manager of our Plaza Office.”
Cannon joined Tompkins in 2018 and has worked in various roles, most recently serving as assistant branch manager of the Plaza Office. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Counseling from Moody Bible Institute and is a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) candidate at Post University.
Dedicated to his profession, Cannon holds a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) Certification, and is a certified Notary Public. He resides in Cortland, NY, with his wife and daughter and is an active member of his community, serving as a board member of the Cortland Loaves & Fishes and volunteering with the Church of the Redeemer.
