Police say a Newark woman was arrested following a traffic stop Friday night.
According to a news release, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office arrested Brittany A. Finley, 33, of Newark for Leandra’s Law DWI, driving while intoxicated, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.
Deputies observed Finley pass a line of cars unsafely while approaching a railroad crossing in a no passing zone on County Road 22 in Canandaigua. A traffic stop was initiated and upon speaking with Finley, deputies detected signs of intoxication while having two small children in the car, ages 8 and 5. Finley was subjected to standardized field sobriety testing and failed. She was transported to the Ontario County Jail for processing where she provided a breath sample that yielded a .07% BAC.
Finley is to return to the Town of Farmington Court to answer the charges at a later date.
