A third candidate has entered the race to become the next Seneca County Sheriff.
All three candidates have Sheriff’s Department experience
The Finger Lakes Times reports John Morabito, Sr. entered the race Monday. He becomes the third employee or former employee of the department to enter the race, joining Lt. Tim Thompson and former Sgt. Mike Rhinehart.
Morabito worked in the department for 40 years and currently serves as a firefighter.
Sheriff Tim Luce has announced he will not seek re-election in 2023, and Undersheriff John Cleere said he will retire at the end of next year.
Morabito says it’s an honor to join the race.
