Police say a Cayuga County man was arrested following a domestic dispute.
According to a news release, the Seneca Falls Police Department arrested John R. Bergenstock, 35, of Venice Center for criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child, and mischief.
The Seneca County 911 Center received a call from the victim that Bergenstock was attempting to forcefully enter her home and threatening to kill her. Bergenstock left the scene in a vehicle once he realized police were responding to the incident. Police attempted to stop Bergenstock on East Bayard Street and he fled officers by traveling down several side streets at a high rate of speed. Eventually, Bergenstock went down a dead end street where he was stopped and taken into custody. He was additionally charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating without insurance, and reckless driving.
Bergenstock is due back in the Town of Seneca Falls Court at a later date to answer the charges.
