Rochester Red Wings drop 10th straight with loss to SWB RailRiders

The Rochester Red Wings dropped their 10th straight game with a 7-4 loss to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Saturday night at Frontier Field.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre jumped out to a 7-0 lead and held on for the victory.


Will Smith, who was making his second rehab appearance with Rochester, started the game and allowed a run over an inning of work. Patrick Murphy followed Smith and surrendered four unearned runs. Francisco Perez and Curtis Taylor also gave up a run.

Joey Meneses, Riley Adams, David Dahl, and Jake Alu each collected an RBI for the Red Wings. Josh Palacios extended his hitting streak to 18 games and extended his on-base streak to 31 games.

Rochester will try to avoid the six-game sweep on Sunday with Franklyn Kilome on the mound. The first pitch is set for 1:05 p.m.
