Gleyber Torres put the Yankees on the board and tied the game with a two-run home run over the right-field wall in the top of the eighth. That was his 16th long ball of the season.

In the bottom of the ninth, Starling Marte hammered a walk-off single to left to give the Mets a 3-2 victory.

The Yankees will open a four-game series with the Kansas City Royals on Thursday night in the Bronx. The Mets will get the day off on Thursday before they begin a three-game series with the Miami Marlins on Friday night.
