McDonald’s is celebrating its grand reopening later this week in Auburn.
Officially, the Grant Avenue location of McDonald’s in Auburn is set to reopen on Friday, July 29.
The updated facility, which has been under construction for months, includes a new Play Place for kids, improved parking and landscaping outside the building, as well as a more modern finish inside.
The restaurant is operated by Mc H & N Management. It’s a New Jersey company that purchased both Auburn-area locations, as well as a handful of others in Ithaca and the Southern Tier in 2021.
They told The Citizen that updating McDonald’s restaurants happens every 5-10 years. This particular location, being one of the older examples in the region, was due for an update.
McDonald’s will be hosting a number of reopening events over the weekend- including a ribbon cutting between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Friday, as well as giveaways, raffles, face painting and more on Saturday between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
