The naming of a new executive director of the Cayuga Economic Development Agency (CEDA) signals a change in the organizational structure of economic development in the county.
CEDA, Chamber name new Directors just days apart
Michael Miller was named the new Executive Director of CEDA Wednesday. That move, along with the promotion of Amy Fuller to Executive Director of the Chamber seems to mean the end of Cayuga Strategic Solutions, the umbrella organization that has overseen both agencies in recent years. Cayuga County Legislator Aileen McNabb-Coleman says the timing is right for the two agencies to set their own distinct agendas.
Cayuga Strategic Solutions CEO Broadwell removed after just a few months
Tracy Verrier, who had been involved in economic development in Cayuga County for many years, left Cayuga Strategic Solutions last year to take a private sector job. Her replacement, Brad Broadwell, was hired as CEO this spring but was removed from the position in June. Broadwell said he was not given a clear reason for why he was let go.
