Syracuse Mets drop series opener to Omaha

The Syracuse Mets (42-52) fell to the Omaha Storm Chasers (47-46), 5-1, in the series opener on Tuesday night at NBT Bank Stadium.

Tim Adleman started on the mound for Syracuse and surrendered three runs on six hits over four innings while walking one and striking out six.


R.J. Alvarez allowed a pair of runs in relief for the Mets. Stephen Nogosek, Eric Orze, and Jose Rodriguez each had scoreless outings.

Syracuse plated their only run of the game in the bottom of the third. Tzu-Wei Lin brought home a run with an RBI double to center.

The Mets will try to bounce back on Wednesday and even the six-game series at a game apiece. Jacob deGrom is scheduled to make his second rehab start. The first pitch is set for 12:05 p.m.
