The Seneca County Sheriff’s office provided an update on a crash that happened around 1:17 a.m. on Friday, July 22.
Deputies responded to State Route 89 in Covert for a single-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, deputies found the driver, identified as Randy Eads, 34, of Willard standing next to the vehicle.
The investigation found that Eads had been traveling north on Route 89 when his car left the roadway, traveling down an embankment, coming to an abrupt stop at the base of a large tree.
The vehicle suffered extensive damage. During the investigation, Eads showed signs of intoxication, which resulted in a number of charges.
Eads was arrested for DWI, aggravated DWI, operating without a license, and moving from lane unsafely.
The charges will be answered at a later date.
