Police arrested two individuals after an attempted traffic stop in Geneseo.
According to a news release, State Police in Geneseo arrested John E. Slomka, 38, and Tina M. Bredt, 33 on multiple charges following a pursuit on I-390 in Livingston County.
Slomka and Bredt were both charged with criminal possession of stolen property. Slomka was also charged with one count of fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle. Following a record check, it was also determined that both individuals had active warrants all out of the Buffalo area.
Slomka was operating a Dodge Caravan that displayed a stolen license plate and failed to comply with troopers. A pursuit began on I-390 northbound in Geneseo and Livingston County Sheriff Deputies utilized a tire deflation device for the vehicle to come to a stop. After a brief foot pursuit, the subjects were taken into custody. Troopers determined that the vehicle was also reported stolen earlier this month to the Niagara Falls Police Department.
Both subjects were remanded to the Livingston County Jail and are pending arraignment.
