The city of Geneva needs an economic developer.
That was the takeaway from a letter signed by the Industrial Development Agency, Business Improvement District, and Local Development Corp.
The three organizations urged City Council to find money in next year’s budget to create the economic developer position.
That role would oversee economic development within the city.
At this point, the city has given some indication that it would be interested in developing that role after the comptroller’s position is filled.
However, an exact timeline remains unclear.
