Franklyn Kilome started on the mound for Rochester and tossed 5 2/3 shutout innings.
Jake Alu smacked his first Triple-A home run over the right-field wall in the bottom of the fifth to give the Red Wings a 2-0 lead.
Rochester plated their third run of the game in the bottom of the sixth. Josh Palacios picked up an RBI with an infield single.
Jake Noll collected two of the team’s five hits.
Francisco Perez, Curtis Taylor, and Patrick Murphy all had scoreless outings in relief.
The Red Wings will try to secure a series victory with Logan Verrett on the hill. The first pitch is slated for 6:05 p.m.
