Steuben County man’s remains identified in Minnesota years after death

Police in Minnesota have confirmed the remains of a person found there are that of a Steuben County resident.

The body was discovered back in 2014, according to authorities.

DNA evidence led them to determine that James Everett, who was a Cohocton resident, died from a fall in 2013.

His remains were discovered by a railroad worker nearly a decade ago.

Family of Everett were unsure why he was in Minnesota or what exactly prompted his death.
