Rochester Red Wings lose 6-1 to Omaha

The Rochester Red Wings had their two-game win streak snapped with a 6-1 loss to the Omaha Storm Chasers on Wednesday night at Frontier Field. The six-game series is now even at a game apiece.

Carson Teel made his third start of the season for Rochester and surrendered three runs on five hits over 4 2/3 innings while walking two and striking out four.

The Red Wings plated their lone run in the bottom of the fourth as Matt Lipka worked a bases-loaded walk.

Omaha scored three of their six runs in the top of the fifth. William Hancock started the inning with a run-scoring single. Later in the frame, Jose Briceno was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Right after that, John Rave worked a bases-loaded walk to make it a 3-1 game.

The Storm Chasers extended their lead in the top of the eighth as Rave grounded one through the middle for an RBI single.

Omaha added two more runs in the top of the ninth. Ivan Castillo ripped one through the left side for an RBI single and Dairon Blanco lifted a sacrifice fly to right field to cap off the scoring.

Jake Noll went 2-for-4 at the plate and extended his hitting streak to 12 games.

The Red Wings will try to bounce back on Thursday night with Sterling Sharp on the mound. The first pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.
