The Buffalo Sabres needed to add a goaltender in free agency, and it did not take long for them to land one.
Buffalo signed Eric Comrie to a two-year contract with an average annual value of $1.8 million, the team announced Wednesday.
The 27-year-old posted a 16-10-5 record with a .920 save percentage in 19 games with the Winnipeg Jets last season.
Comire has also played for the Detroit Red Wings and New Jersey Devils. In 28 career NHL games, the netminder has a save percentage of .909.
Comrie is expected to share the workload in Buffalo with 41-year-old Craig Anderson.
