Once again police are investigating a long string of commercial burglaries in the city of Ithaca.

According to a press release, officers were dispatched to Rosie’s Ice Cream on Seneca Street for a burglary in progress. When police arrived they found that the suspect had already fled.

However, further investigation determined that it was the second time in a matter of hours that the business had been burglarized.

Two separate subjects were observed on security footage entering and burglarizing the property. Police don’t know if the two individuals were working together due to the time lapse between the incidents.

Then on Monday a number of other burglaries were reported to police.

Automotive Consultants on Elmira Road was burglarized over the weekend by forced entry.

The Lincoln Street Diner was burglarized between Sunday and Monday. The diner is located on Lincoln Street.

The Fall Creek House on Lake Street was also burglarized in the same window, according to police.

Then on Monday around 4:05 a.m. The Milk Stand on Meadow Street was burglarized.

Another business, identified as Ace Security, on West Green Street reported that a work van was broken in to over the weekend.

All of the incidents remain under investigation. Anyone with information about them is asked to contact IPD by calling (607) 272-3245.
