  • Staff Report

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has COVID-19.

The 71-year-old is fully-vaccinated and had two booster shots. However, he tested positive for the virus.

Now, Schumer will work remotely for a week as his mild symptoms resolve.

Schumer was in Fairport on Friday celebrating an expansion of Corning Inc.

Spokesperson Justin Goodman told press that Schumer would continue to work through his diagnosis.

“Anyone who knows Leader Schumer knows that even if he’s not physically in the Capitol, through virtual meetings and his trademark flip phone he will continue with his robust schedule and remain in near constant contact with his colleagues,” Goodman said.
