Mets reinstate Travis Jankowski from injured list, place Jeff McNeil on paternity list

The New York Mets made a couple of roster moves before Monday’s series opener against the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park.

The team reinstated outfielder Travis Jankowski from the injured list and placed second baseman Jeff McNeil on the paternity list.

Jankowski returns after missing about seven weeks with a fractured bone in his left hand. He is in Monday’s starting lineup, batting eighth and playing right field. The 31-year-old is hitting .209/.306/.515 with two RBIs and three stolen bases this season.

McNeil has played in 77 of New York’s 86 games this season. The 30-year-old is hitting .311/.371/.807 with four home runs and 35 RBIs. He was named to his second career All-Star Game on Sunday.

The first pitch for Monday’s game is set for 7:20 p.m.
