A new proposal has been introduced in the state of Massachusetts that would give a group of workers stimulus tax rebate payments worth $500.
This would happen under the Taxpayer Energy and Economic Relief Fund.
Who still never got a $1,400 check?
This can help offset the rising costs of gas and groceries as inflation soars.
Eligibility for the Massachusetts stimulus payments
There are income requirements to get the payments.
Taxpayers must have an income of $38,000 or more for the year 2021.
Income may not exceed $100,000 for single filers or $150,000 for couples.
In order for the payments to go out, the proposal must pass both the House and Senate by July 31.
If it is passed payments will go out before September 30, 2022.
Another program that sent $500 payments to essential workers is being used as a model for this program.
