Syracuse Mets offense struggles in loss to Buffalo

The Syracuse Mets’ offense struggled on Friday night as they fell to the Buffalo Bisons, 6-1, at Sahlen Field.

Syracuse had several scoring opportunities but could not cash in as they went 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position. Gosuke Katoh drove in the lone run in the fifth inning with his fourth home run of the season. The Mets had just five total hits.

Chavez Young and LJ Talley homered for Buffalo while Jordan Groshans also had an RBI single.

David Griffin started on the mound for Syracuse and surrendered six runs on five hits over three innings. Yennsy Díaz, RJ Alvarez, and Eric Orze had scoreless outings in relief.

The Mets will send Nate Fisher to the hill on Saturday night as they will try to bounce back. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
