The Auburn City Council awarded a bid Thursday for paving and other construction work on parts of Genesee and John Streets in downtown Auburn.
How will the construction affect traffic flow downtown?
Paul F. Vitale Inc. of Auburn was awarded the contract to do the work at a cost of $850,200. The work will include milling and new pavement on part of Genesee and all of John. The project is being paid for with New York State Transportation Touring Route Fund Grant money that was awarded to the city last year. Auburn City Clerk Chuck Mason says the work will get underway in the next two weeks or so. He says the city will do its best to limit traffic disruptions.
