A Canandaigua man has been found guilty of criminally negligent homicide.
Christopher Diaz, 32, of Canandaigua was originally charged with first-degree manslaughter after a December 2020 fight at 99 Phoenix Street.
A grand jury indicted Diaz for criminally negligent homicide.
He pleaded innocent and asked for a trial, which lasted one week.
During the trial it was learned that Diaz was involved in an argument with his girlfriend at the time, who called her father for help. Diaz and the victim, identified as Anthony Gray, began to fight.
Gray was found unresponsive and unconscious later dying at Thompson Hospital.
