Wegmans is set to have to pay $400,000 following a data breach discovered in 2021.
The breach was discovered in April 2021, when a security researcher found that a cloud storage container that had consumer information was unsecured.
In May the company discovered a second cloud storage container that was unsecured.
The state says more than 3 million consumers had personal information compromised. Around 830,000 of them were in New York.
Wegmans will have to pay $400,000 in penalties to the state.
