Governor Jared Polis of Colorado is urging residents to file their tax return by June 30 in order to see a stimulus payment.
The state is sending out stimulus payments worth $500-$1,000 to qualifying residents.
In order to see the refund, residents must get their taxes filed by the deadline.
Stimulus checks for Colorado residents
Single filers in the state will see a stimulus payment of $500.
Joint filers will see a payment of $1,000.
This is part pf the Colorado Cashback refund being sent this summer.
The final extension is set for mid October.
Payments of $500 could be going to thousands in Minnesota
This means you could still see the money if you file by then, but it won’t arrive to you until January of 2023.
If you qualify, you must be a full time Colorado resident that filed for the 2021 tax year.
You could also apply for the 2021 Property Tax/Rent/Heat Rebate Credit to qualify.
Everyone residing in the state who was 18 as of Dec. 31, 2021 should file a tax return to see the stimulus payment.
If you filed by the federal deadline of April 15, 2022, then you do not need to make any additional adjustments.
