Residents working as child care professionals in Delaware can now apply for stimulus payments of $1,000 directly from the state.
The payments will come from the Delaware Department of Education.
$10.6 million dollars of federal funds from the American Rescue Act will pay for the program.
Child care professionals and the $1,000 stimulus payment
The program was created to show appreciation for those who took care of children during the pandemic.
There are some eligibility requirements for those to get the payment.
Professionals must be at least the age of 18 to see the stimulus payment.
They must work in licensed Delaware child care programs directly with children.
20 hours per week for at least 90 days must be worked.
Would another economic impact payment check help Americans combat inflation?
Child care services remained available in Delaware during the pandemic for kids of essential workers.
This included children of police officers, correctional officers, healthcare workers, and other essential positions.
A database filled with employee information will be used to determine eligibility.
The applications are currently open and close July 29, 2022.
Once verified, stimulus payments will be sent within 10 days for those who choose direct deposit.
If paper stimulus checks are chosen, it will take up to 30 days to see the payment by mail.
