Rochester Red Wings blanked by SWB RailRiders

The Rochester Red Wings were blanked by the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, 3-0, on Saturday night at PNC Field. With the victory, the RailRiders lead the six-game series 3-2.

Rochester had just five hits, and Taylor Gushue had the only extra-base hit.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre plated their first run in the fourth inning. Jake Bauers brought home Tim Locastro with an RBI single to left field.


The RailRiders added two more runs in the eighth on a pair of wild pitches.

Carson Teel started on the mound for Red Wings and surrendered a run on two hits while striking out seven. Matt Brill and Luis Avilán had scoreless outings in relief. Alberto Baldonado allowed two runs.

Rochester has now been shut out four times this season.

The Red Wings will try to split the series on Sunday. The first pitch is slated for 1:05 p.m.
