Yankees blank Blue Jays for ninth straight win

The New York Yankees blanked the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-0, for their ninth consecutive victory on Saturday afternoon at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.

Jameson Taillon started on the mound for New York and tossed 5 2/3 scoreless innings while walking two and striking out a season-high eight batters. Michael King was the first one out of the bullpen, and he fired two shutout innings. Clay Holmes recorded the final four outs of the game and extended his scoreless streak to 31 1/3 innings.

Aaron Hicks, who has really struggled with runners in scoring position this season, hammered a two-out bases-clearing double in the fourth to give the Yankees a 3-0 lead.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa extended the lead in the sixth with an RBI double.

Gleyber Torres, Kiner-Falefa, and Hicks each had two-hit games.

The Yankees go for the three-game sweep on Sunday afternoon with Luis Severino on the hill. The first pitch is slated for 1:37 p.m.
