Lightning re-sign defenseman Sean Day to one-year, two-way contract

A familiar face will be returning to the Syracuse Crunch next season.

Tampa Bay Lightning vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced Thursday that the team has re-signed defenseman Sean Day to a one-year, two-way contract.

Day appeared in 69 games for Tampa Bay’s American Hockey League affiliate in Syracuse during the 2021-22 season and recorded eight goals and 40 points. In two seasons with the Crunch, Day has registered 11 goals and 55 points in 98 career games.

The 24-year-old made his NHL debut with the Lightning on December 28, 2021, against the Montreal Canadiens.
