Home destroyed after fire in Scipio: More than a dozen fire departments called

More than a dozen fire departments responded to a house fire on Wycoff Road in the town of Scipio.

No injuries were reported, but firefighters from Scipio, Poplar Ridge, Long Hill, Fleming, Throop, Sennett, Moravia, Aurelius, Union Springs, Sempronius Aurora, West Niles, Genoa, Owasco, and Southern Cayuga all responded to the scene.

The fire apparently started with a lawnmower in a garage, then spread to an attached house. A small barn also suffered damage as a result of the blaze.

Firefighters were on-scene for several hours, according to the Cayuga-Seneca Fire Wire.
