White House-appointed Regional Administrator Marlene Cintron will speak at 25th Annual Straight Talk Conference this Saturday

White House-appointed Regional Administrator Marlene Cintron, who leads the U.S. Small Business Administration‘s operations throughout the Atlantic Region of New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, will deliver welcoming remarks at the 25th annual Straight Talk Conference this Saturday, June 18 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

The Straight Talk 2022 Conference will also host evening seminars for small business owners and entrepreneurs. Hosted by the SBA Buffalo District, the event is co-sponsored by the SCORE Buffalo Niagara Chapter. The day of programming will provide workshops, classes, seminars and access to expert-provided free one-on-one technical assistance and small business counseling opportunities.

“The SBA Buffalo District is committed to helping small business owners and entrepreneurs learn about the resources available that will help their businesses start, grow and succeed. For the past 24 years, Straight Talk has provided one-on-one business counseling, business information booths, networking opportunities, educational training and more at Straight Talk,” said SBA Buffalo District Director Franklin J. Sciortino.

“We look forward to welcoming Regional Administrator Cintron to Buffalo this weekend and hearing more about White House priorities that are assisting our small business an entrepreneurial ecosystem throughout Western New York,” Sciortino added.

 SBA Regional Administrator, Marlene Cintron, SBA District Director Franklin J. Sciortino, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, Erie County Deputy Executive Marie White, SCORE Buffalo Niagara Chairman Phil Smith, 150+ local small business owners & entrepreneurs and more will attend the 25th Annual Straight Talk Conference.

Participants will have access to seminars, classes and workshops geared towards training and entrepreneurial development of small business owners and entrepreneurs to assist growing and starting a small business. Topics will issues include access to capital, assistance for veterans, marketing techniques, and how to be federally certified as a women-owned, minority-owned, or disadvantaged business which can also open the door to enhanced revenues through federal government contracting.

Attendees will be able to meet with representatives from the SBA, SCORE Buffalo Niagara and several other community and private organizations that deliver helpful financial and information tools to assist these entrepreneurs to succeed.    


The Conference will takes place on June 18, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center located at 153 Franklin Street in Buffalo, NY. There is a $20 advance registration fee or $25 day of registration fee. Please note: Registration fee includes a continental breakfast and parking.

Conference registrants will also automatically be scheduled for the SCORE Buffalo Niagara Business Basics introductory seminar to learn about business plans and other foundations of growing a successful business.
