Internet Explorer is no more.
Microsoft will no longer support the browser, which came standard on many personal computers during the first 20 years of the tech era.
The internet browser is 27 years old.
Last year, Microsoft signaled this move, pointing out that they were ending support for it on June 15, 2022. They moved users over to its Edge browser.
“Not only is Microsoft Edge a faster, more secure and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it is also able to address a key concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications,” Sean Lyndersay, general manager of Microsoft Edge Enterprise, wrote in a May 2021 blog post.
Now June 15 has come-and-gone. The internet’s original browser is no more.
