Chicago Moves, introduced by the Chicago City Council, has created a gas stimulus program to help offset rising gas prices.
50,000 gas cards worth $150 are being given out to residents in Chicago.
In addition, 100,000 public transit cards worth $50 are also being given out to residents.
The goal is to help provide financial relief to residents so they can have more money for their other needs.
Eligibility for the gas stimulus Chicago payments
There are various requirements for someone to apply to the program.
First, you must be a resident in the city of Chicago.
You must be 18 or older.
You must have a valid driver’s license and mailing address for your registered vehicle.
Finally, your household income must be at or below 100% of the AMI for Chicago.

You will not automatically receive a gas stimulus payment even if you qualify.
There are limited cards available, and they’re being given using a lottery system.
Drawings started the second week of May and will continue each month through September.
You must submit your applications by the first of that month.
This leaves two weeks until the next deadline for the month of July.
Applying for the gas stimulus
You may apply online for the stimulus program at Chicago.Gov/ChicagoMoves.
You ay also apply through mail by addressing the application to ATTN: Dept. of Finance: Chicago Moves, 121 N. LaSalle St., 7th Floor, Chicago, IL 60602.
Finally, you can physically go to any Chicago Public Library to apply.
There is no way to apply at City Hall.
Applications are accepted one per household.
