A woman in Ontario County faces burglary charges after an altercation involving a machete.
According to a news release, deputies were called to Wood Drive in Farmington around 7 a.m. on Friday.
They were responding to a disturbance.
Upon investigation it was determined that Ariel Barkley, 30, of Manchester arrived at the address with a machete and damaged a vehicle.
She then entered and stole property.
She was charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief. Deputies said that Barkley was remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of bail.
An order of protection was granted to the family living at the address where the incident unfolded.
