Roten spent the last two seasons with the New York Jets, where he started in 23 games. New York released the 32-year-old in May. He also played for the Carolina Panthers (2017 to 2019) and the Green Bay Packers (2012 to 2013).
Roten had brief stints with the Seattle Seahawks, Toronto Argonauts, and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He will compete for a starting spot on the interior of the Bills’ offensive line with Ryan Bates, Ike Boettger, and Cody Ford in 2022.
