Syracuse Mets snap four-game skid with win over SWB RailRiders

The Syracuse Mets snapped a four-game skid on Sunday afternoon with a 10-1 victory over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in the series finale at NBT Bank Stadium. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre won the series by taking four of seven.

Trevor Cahill, who was added to the active roster before the game, started on the bump for Syracuse and surrendered a run on two hits over two innings while striking out two. Michael Otanez, Eric Orze, Yoan López, Bryce Montes de Oca, and R.J. Alvarez all had scoreless outings in relief.


Mark Vientos, Daniel Palka, and Dominic Smith homered for the Mets. Johneswhy Fargas drove in a couple of runs, while Luke Ritter collected an RBI. Fargas used his speed and stole home.

Syracuse will get the day off on Monday before they begin a six-game series with the Norfolk Tides on Tuesday night at Harbor Park Stadium.
