Palmyra-Macedon baseball season ends with loss to Spackenkill in Class B state semifinal

Spackenkill scored eight of their 13 runs in the first inning, with four of them coming on a grand slam by Xavier Zykoff. Palmyra-Macedon tried to come back with two runs in the third and one in the fourth to make it an 8-3 game, but that was as close as it would get.

Christopher Finocchario Jr. had an RBI single in the third, and Ian Goodness collected an RBI with a bases-loaded walk. The third run came on a throwing error by the shortstop.

Finocchario started on the bump for the Red Raiders and allowed nine runs (six earned) over four innings while walking four and striking out four. Ian Goodness surrendered four runs in relief.

Palmyra-Macedon finished the season with a 24-1 record and a Section V Class B1 title.
