The Syracuse Mets had their three-game win streak snapped on Thursday night with a 12-4 loss to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders at NBT Bank Stadium.
Veteran left-hander Mike Montgomery started on the bump for Syracuse and recorded just five outs while allowing six runs on seven hits. The bullpen also struggled as Yennsy Díaz, Eric Orze, and Michael Otanez combined to allow six runs.
Daniel Palka drove in Syracuse’s first run with an RBI single in the first inning. JT Riddle smacked a two-run home run in the sixth, his fourth of the season. Travis Blankenhorn collected an RBI with a bases-loaded walk in the eighth.
Riddle and Cody Bohanek each had two-hit games.
The two teams will play another doubleheader on Friday. Game 1 is slated for 4:05 p.m.
