The New York Mets snapped a two-game skid on Saturday night with a 9-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.
Pete Alonso homered twice and collected five RBIs to lead the Mets, while Francisco Lindor and Eduardo Escobar also smacked home runs.
David Peterson started on the mound for New York and allowed four runs (one earned) over 3.2 innings. Colin Holderman, Adam Ottavino, Chasen Shreve, Drew Smith, Joely Rodríguez, and Seth Lugo all had scoreless outings in relief.
Mookie Betts drove in three of the Dodgers’ four runs.
The Mets will go for the four-game split on Sunday afternoon. The first pitch is slated for 4:10 p.m.
