Joey Meneses delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Rochester Red Wings over the Buffalo Bisons, 2-1, on Friday night at Frontier Field.
Former World Series MVP Stephen Strasburg made a rehab start for Rochester and tossed six shutout innings while allowing just one hit and striking out four. Alberto Baldonado gave up the lone run in relief, while Patrick Murphy and Reed Garrett each had scoreless outings.
The Red Wings scored their first run of the game in the third inning on Donovan Casey’s fifth home run of the season. Meneses and Casey each had multi-hit games.
The two teams will play a single-admission doubleheader on Saturday. Game 1 is slated to start at 5:05 p.m.
