Mets drop second straight to Dodgers

The New York Mets dropped their second straight to the Los Angeles Dodgers, this time by a final score of 6-1.

Chris Bassitt started on the mound for New York and allowed four runs (three earned) over six innings while striking out eight. Joely Rodríguez and Stephen Nogosek each allowed a run in relief.

The Mets’ lone run came in the seventh inning when Pete Alonso blasted one over the wall in left-center.

Eduardo Escobar had two of New York’s five hits.

Cody Bellinger, Zach McKinstry, and Chris Taylor homered for the Dodgers. Tyler Anderson tossed six shutout innings.

Game three of the four-game series is set for Saturday at 10:10 p.m.
