Canandaigua boys lacrosse defeats Irondequoit for Section V Class B title

The four-seeded Canandaigua Braves and the two-seeded Irondequoit Eagles faced off in the Section V Class B Championship on Thursday evening at Penfield High School. The Braves came out victorious by a score of 7-3. With the victory, Canandaigua claimed its first title since 2013.

Jaxon Grant recorded four points on three goals and an assist to lead Canandaigua. The senior was named All-Tournament MVP following the game. Nate Sheridan, Elliott Morgan, Drew Williamee, and Matt Belles also netted goals for the Braves. Goalkeeper Jack Faiola made six saves.


Aidan Greco scored twice and finished with three points for Irondequoit, while Dan Buckley also found the back of the net. Goalie Nick Lepiane made seven saves.

Canandaigua moves on to the State Tournament this Saturday.
